Weighing only 3.1 ounces without a fuel canister and handle, and measuring two by four inches (W x H), the compact F1 Lite nonetheless puts out a generous amount of light, the equivalent of 24 candlepower or a 38-watt light bulb. The lantern’s total weight -- including handle and pouch -- is just 4.3 ounces, and the lantern runs up to nine hours on high or 16 hours on low on a standard, 7.75-ounce fuel canister.Made to be tough and trail-ready, the lantern's globe is made of fine stainless-steel mesh, and is stronger and lighter-weight than a standard glass globe. The lantern is lit by inserting a match in a small hole in the globe, which is easily removable for no-hassle mantle changing. A large, easy-to-manipulate control knob is fully adjustable from low to high, and the cable handle weighs less than one-tenth of an ounce, and can be detached or attached as needed for convenient carrying or hanging. An included textile pouch is cleverly reinforced on the inside with a plastic cylinder.
